# Privacy Policy for UTM Builder

UTM Builder is a free browser extension that helps you create URLs with UTM tracking parameters. This policy explains how the extension handles information when you use it.

## Permissions and local processing

UTM Builder uses the **activeTab** and **scripting** permissions strictly to read the current browser tab’s URL locally so it can pre-fill the destination URL and help you build links with tracking parameters.

- **activeTab** provides temporary access to the current tab when you invoke the extension.
- **scripting** allows the extension to run the local code needed to retrieve that URL.

These permissions are used only for this link-building function, not to monitor your browsing activity or access your browsing history. URLs and tracking parameters are processed locally within your browser.

## Data collection, storage, and sharing

UTM Builder does not collect personal user data, browsing history, or tracking information for transmission to external servers. No such information is sent to, stored on, or shared through external servers by the extension.

The extension does not sell or share your information with third parties. Generating a UTM link does not send its URL or tracking parameters to us.

## Links you choose to use

When you share or open a generated link, its URL includes the UTM parameters you added. The destination website may process those parameters under its own privacy policy. This is separate from UTM Builder’s local processing.

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the extension or its data practices. Any updates will appear on this page with a revised date.
